Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre has been hailed a success after two days of sunshine, jousting and medieval spectacle in the heart of town.

The event took place at Glastonbury Abbey on Saturday, 25 April, and Sunday, 26 April 2026, drawing visitors into the abbey grounds for one of the town's biggest spring weekends.

The 36-acre site was filled with re-enactment camps, market stalls, food traders, live music and family activities.

Knights of Albion brought the thunder in the main arena, with jousting proving one of the weekend's biggest crowd-pullers.

There were also battles, archery displays, projectile weapon demonstrations and living history camps across the abbey grounds.

More than 200 re-enactors were involved across the weekend, helping bring the medieval setting to life around the ruins.

The event also featured music, storytelling, roaming performers and have-a-go activities, including longsword sessions.

Food and drink traders kept visitors fuelled, with pizza, crêpes, cakes, coffee, burgers, hog roast rolls, curries and drinks available on site.

The weather helped, too.

After all the sensible warnings about waterproofs and sturdy shoes, the weekend was blessed with lovely conditions, giving visitors the chance to enjoy the abbey grounds at their best.

The fayre has become a major date in Glastonbury's calendar, bringing families, history fans, stallholders and performers into the town centre.

With crowds enjoying the spectacle across both days, the 2026 event delivered exactly what people came for: horses, armour, music, markets, food and a healthy dose of medieval mayhem.
