Street Food Festival returns to Clarks Village in September

Street food from Pakistan, Jamaica, Greece and the Himalayas will be on the menu when Clarks Village brings back its food festival next month. The two-day event will take place at the Street shopping outlet on Saturday, 19 September and Sunday, 20 September, with live music running alongside the food stalls.

The festival follows its debut last year and will be held on the lawn of the Shoemaker's Museum, overlooking the outlet's restaurant terrace. Saturday's event will run from midday until 7 pm, with Sunday's session open from midday until 5 pm.

Visitors will have plenty to work their way through. Traders announced for the weekend include Saffron Hill Food with Persian-inspired dishes, Oh Crepe! serving sweet and savoury crepes, Pakistani street food from Stans, Turkish stuffed flatbreads from Sultan Gozleme and Himalayan dumplings from MANDALA.

Also joining the line-up are Biltong Boss, Caribbean food from Joy & Gladness, loaded fries from Forked Up, Mexican tacos from Nopalito and Greek dishes from Gyroland. Hel's Kitchen will be firing up its wood-fired grills, while the Coastguard Bar will also be at the festival.

And for anyone who considers eating for seven hours a little ambitious, there will be music to provide the intervals. Saturday's programme starts with One Man Festival Band at 1 pm, followed by Dragons Fly at 3 pm and The Hill Brothers at 5 pm.

Sunday's entertainment begins with Bob Gallie at midday, followed by Southsea Groove Collective at 2 pm and Anders Trio at 4 pm. The programme stretches across acoustic folk, jazz, funk and soul, rock, indie and classic pop.

Mike Jones, centre director at Clarks Village, said the first Street Food Festival had been a "huge hit" and the team had wanted to bring it back for a second year.

He said: "This year's festival promises a fantastic mix of flavours from around the world, alongside a great line-up of live music, making Clarks Village the perfect place to spend a relaxed summer weekend."
