Street firefighters called to major blaze in Taunton

Firefighters from Street were among multiple crews called to a major property fire near Taunton yesterday morning.
The fire broke out at a domestic property in Henlade, prompting several 999 calls and a significant response from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. Initial crews from Taunton quickly requested additional support due to the scale of the fire and the need for more water and personnel.
Street's team joined colleagues from Taunton, Wellington, Bridgwater, Martock and Yeovil to help bring the blaze under control.
The incident was managed in two sectors, with Safety Officers overseeing operations, and a drone was deployed to monitor the scene and assess any impact on the nearby motorway.
Crews used breathing apparatus, jets, ladders, ceiling hooks, thermal imaging cameras and small tools to extinguish the fire. Significant damage was caused to the ground floor, first floor and roof of the property.
All crews had left the scene by 2pm.
