Melhuish & Saunders has welcomed two new apprentices this month as part of its continued investment in training and skills.

Louis, from Glastonbury, has joined the company as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor after completing his A Levels at Strode College. He will begin his formal studies at University Centre Somerset in January.

He said: "I decided that I wanted to get into construction because it's a massive industry that keeps growing every day. I chose surveying because I've always liked maths. I've really enjoyed my first week and I'm excited for the future."

Ethan, also starting this month, has joined as an Apprentice Bricklayer and will be training through University Centre Somerset. He said he is eager to gain hands-on experience and learn how buildings come together.

The firm is also supporting two existing team members through apprenticeships. Lewis is now in his second year as an Apprentice Bricklayer, and Lucy, based in the company's Wells office, is currently undertaking a Higher Apprenticeship.

Director of Melhuish & Saunders, Darryl Melhuish said: "It's really important to keep younger generations inspired by the construction industry and to provide them with the help, support and guidance they need. Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to develop talent for the future — not just for school leavers, but for anyone wanting to grow their career in construction."
