Residents, relatives and friends gathered at Glastonbury Care Home on Sunday, 26 July, for a summer BBQ in the sunshine.

The event was held at the Pike Close home and brought people together for an afternoon of music, food and fundraising. Wells City Band performed during the afternoon, with a tombola, BBQ, cream teas and ice creams also on offer.

The warm weather helped make it a relaxed community day, with families and friends able to spend time with residents and enjoy the entertainment together.

Glastonbury Care Home is part of Brunelcare and provides nursing care for older people, including people living with dementia. The 64-bed home is split into four houses and has enclosed gardens, communal areas and regular activities for residents.

The home says music is an important part of life at Glastonbury Care Home, with singing sessions and visiting musicians among its regular activities. Sunday's summer BBQ added Wells City Band to that programme for a busy afternoon in the garden.

The event also gave the home a chance to welcome the wider community through its doors. Families, friends and visitors were invited to join residents for the afternoon at the Pike Close home.

More information about the home is available on the Glastonbury Care Home page on Brunelcare's website.

Glastonbury Care Home brought residents, families and friends together for a sunny summer BBQ on Sunday. Wells City Band, cream teas, ice creams and a tombola — very much the Glastonbury version of a full house.
