What's On in Street and Glastonbury is brought to you by our sponsors Strode College, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury Abbey, Studio24 in Wells and Melhuish and Saunders.

Glastonbury and Street are offering a mix of music, theatre, and wellness this weekend. The Best of Grohl will bring a night of rock anthems to The King Arthur on Saturday, while Natural Right will be performing reggae and dub at The Assembly Rooms.

Over at Glastonbury Town Hall, The Trouble Notes will deliver a blend of folk, classical, and rock.

For something completely different, Professor Elemental is bringing his steampunk hip-hop act to The King Arthur on Friday. Meanwhile, the ReSource and ReWild Retreat in Compton Dundon offers a chance to disconnect and recharge, and Snowdrop Month at The Bishop’s Palace in nearby Wells provides the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy the first signs of spring.

Meanwhile, the Repair Café at The Art Bank gives residents the chance to get broken items fixed for free, helping to promote sustainability and reduce

The Somerset Comic Con and Gaming Festival takes place on Saturday at the Bath & West Showground, promising a huge selection of TV and film memorabilia, board games, retro gaming, and cosplay meet-ups, with life-sized dinosaurs roaming among the crowds. The fun continues on Sunday with The Alternative Convention, where fantasy, steampunk, and gothic culture take centre stage, alongside live music, axe throwing, and pop-up tattoo artists.

For those looking for something more active, the Somerset ASA County Swimming Championships will take place at Millfield Swimming Pool in Street across Saturday and Sunday, bringing together some of the region's top swimmers for a highly competitive event.

Meanwhile, over in Holt, the Ice Bath Challenge on Friday will see participants guided through a Wim Hof breathing session before taking the plunge into freezing cold water—a test of endurance with supposed health benefits, though mostly it just sounds incredibly cold.

Music lovers are spoilt for choice, with a range of live performances across the weekend. On Friday, Fleetwood Shack will bring Fleetwood Mac classics to Ilminster Arts Centre, while The Trouble Notes will perform at Glastonbury Town Hall with their unique blend of folk, classical, and rock influences. Professor Elemental will take to the stage at The King Arthur in Glastonbury for a steampunk hip-hop set in support of Groovy Pride.

Saturday night is equally busy, with The Best of Grohl celebrating the music of Dave Grohl, from Nirvana to Foo Fighters, at The King Arthur in Glastonbury. Meanwhile, over at The Assembly Rooms, Natural Right will be delivering a night of reggae and dub. For fans of musical theatre, the Opera Boys will be performing West End classics in Weston-super-Mare.

Studio 24 in Wells is hosting a Robbie Williams Tribute Night on Saturday, 8 February. Performed by Dan Budd, recognised as the UK's top Robbie Williams tribute act and a former contestant on BBC One's Let It Shine, the show promises all the hits with the same confidence and swagger as the real thing.

Families looking for entertainment have plenty of options too. Minny Stynker Theatre Show in Midsomer Norton on Sunday promises a fun and engaging performance for younger audiences, while Michael J Tinker: I've Got a Song About That in Bishops Lydeard on Saturday offers a musical storytelling experience designed for children.

For those looking to wind down, there are several wellness and community events taking place. In Glastonbury, ReSource and ReWild Retreat runs from Friday to Sunday, providing a chance to disconnect from modern life and reconnect with nature. Meanwhile, the Mediumship & Private Sittings Seminar on Saturday at St Edmund's Community Hall will explore spiritual connections and private readings.

Over in Wells, Snowdrop Month continues at The Bishop's Palace, inviting visitors to take a walk through 14 acres of gardens as the first signs of spring begin to bloom. Meanwhile, the Portway Performing Arts programme at Wells Little Theatre continues its work with young performers, running every Saturday for ages 6-18.

Back in Shepton Mallet, the Repair Café at the Art Bank offers residents a chance to bring along broken items and have them fixed instead of thrown away, promoting a more sustainable approach to everyday life.

With a mix of live performances, family activities, wellness sessions, and community-led initiatives, there's plenty happening across Glastonbury, Street, Wells and Shepton Mallet this weekend.

Whether you're in the mood for a night of music, a weekend of relaxation, or simply want to test your resilience in an ice bath, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
