By Laura Linham 12th May 2026
Run the Ruins returns to Glastonbury Abbey on Sunday, 21 June 2026, with 10k, 5k and 2.5k trail races across the abbey grounds.
Glastonbury Abbey will once again host its Run the Ruins trail event this summer, with runners set to take on the historic site on Sunday, 21 June 2026.
The event runs from 6 am to 11 am inside the abbey grounds and includes 10k, 5k and 2.5k race options for different abilities and age groups.
Organisers say the route will take runners across the abbey's 36-acre site, featuring lawns, woodland sections, gravel paths, bridges and routes running close to the ruins themselves.
Participants can choose between five race options.
Option one is a 10k with a 120-minute completion window for runners aged 16 and over.
Option two is a 5k with a 120-minute limit, also for ages 16 and over, with wheelchair athletes able to take part in this category.
Option three is a 2.5k run or walk with a 120-minute limit for anyone aged 12 and above.
For more competitive runners, option four is a sub-60-minute 10k starting at 7 am, while option five is a sub-60-minute 5k.
The faster 10k race will also include two sprint sections measuring 100 metres and 200 metres, where runners can compete for King or Queen sprint titles.
Standard races begin at 8.30 am.
Entry prices range from £15 for the 2.5k event to £22 for the 10k races.
Organisers said tickets are available online and will be issued as eTickets by email, with no physical tickets posted.
Further participant information and terms are available through the Glastonbury Abbey website.
