Somerset Health Practice, a pioneering health centre located in Meare near Glastonbury, is fast becoming a beacon of hope and resilience for some of the country's best-known motorbike racers.

Founded and run by Matthew Jackson and Becky Bliss, this one-of-a-kind practice - already a firm favourite with locals - has begun to carve a niche for itself on the motorbike racing circuit.

The natural health clinic specialises in the care of musculo-skeletal problems for women, men and children of any age as well as pain relief, physical rehabilitation and restoring function.

Prominent figures from the motorbike racing world such as Bob Collins, Shaun Hennessy, and Casey O'Gorman have availed of the centre's treatments.

Casey O'Gorman recently had his fitness for the Red Bull Rookies race at Le Mans reinstated following a nasty spill, and said he owed his quick recovery to the unique therapies provided at Somerset Health Practice.

After a challenging journey following a wrist fracture at Estoril during the Michael Laverty Honda event, O'Gorman underwent four laser and hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions over two days at Somerset Health Practice. His strength soared, enabling him to pass both the strength test and his medical, which involved an X-Ray and 10 press-ups.

Likewise, veteran racer Bob Collins, who sustained a broken foot and T4 vertebrae in his spine, found solace and healing at the hands of Jackson and Bliss. After spending extensive hours at the practice, Collins couldn't praise them enough, attributing his recuperation to their dedicated services.

Another racer, Shaun Hennessey, returned to the racetrack after a severe ankle fracture, all thanks to the hyperbaric chamber treatment and laser therapy received at the practice.

Hennessey lauded the practice, stating, "Bike crashers and colleagues, you need this number in your contacts list. I highly recommend their services."

In the aftermath of a tricky qualifying session that left him stiff and sore, Hennesey returned to Somerset for additional laser and hyperbaric treatments to expedite his healing process.

And each story of determination and recovery from the racers further reinforces Somerset Health Practice's standing as the recovery hub of choice for bikers seeking prompt and effective healing, with more and more racers making their way down to Somerset to bridge the gap between injuries and the race track.

Matthew Jackson, the osteopath who founded the practice, said: "The racers discovered our clinic as we offer the same treatment technologies as a globally renowned physiotherapist who has treated many racing stars.

"They realised we were more conveniently located than the five-hour drive they previously endured, and were looking for alternatives following his recent retirement," he said. "Word just got out, and now we're treating up-coming racers, champions and veteran racers most days.

"It's also great to see how X-ray and MRI imaging can substantiate the speed with which our advanced technological treatments enhance bone healing and the body's self-repair capabilities.

"Obviously, these cutting-edge treatments can benefit anyone with an injury, but they've become particularly popular among extreme sports enthusiasts!"

With each racer's story of resilience and recovery, the Somerset Health Practice further solidifies its reputation as the go-to recovery hub for those in need of swift and effective healing.
