Sarah Dyke, Liberal Democrat MP for Glastonbury and Somerton, has welcomed the award of £500,000 from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government for the redevelopment of St Dunstan's House in Glastonbury.

The funding will support transforming the historic building into a modern community health and wellbeing centre. The project, part of the Glastonbury Town Deal, aims to address local challenges by improving health services, reducing deprivation, and boosting the town's economy.

The redevelopment will include the restoration of St Dunstan's House and the addition of a new atrium at Glastonbury Town Hall. Once completed, the centre will provide a space for community activities, health initiatives, and business support services.

Ms Dyke, who recently visited the project, said: "This additional funding is fantastic news for Glastonbury. St Dunstan's House will become a vital hub, improving health and wellbeing while supporting community groups and local businesses.

"I was pleased to write to the Secretary of State to push for clarity on this funding, and I'm delighted the Government has recognised the value of this project.

"This is a great example of what can be achieved when local councils, partners, and communities work collaboratively. I'll continue to champion funding for vital initiatives like this that make a real difference to people's lives."
