Road Trafic Collision - Person Trapped at B3135 Roemead Road, Proddy, Cheddar

Date: 12.10.2018Time: 16:42Location: B3135 Roemead Road, Proddy, CheddarDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a road traffic collision at the above location.

Fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Cheddar, one fire appliance from Well and a duty officer to attend this incident.

On arrival the incident commander requested the attendance of the rescue tender from Glastonbury to assist at this incident.

The incident commander confirmed a two vehicle road traffic collision with persons trapped within both vehicles. The crews worked alongside the paramedics to formulate a plan to extricate the casualties.

Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle using stab fast and using three sets of hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof off both vehicles to extricate the casualties.  

Both casualties were released from the vehicles with serious but not life threatening injuries and duty of care was handed over to the paramedics.

The incident commander handed the scene over to police.
