Glastonbury gathers to remember the fallen on Remembrance Sunday
By Laura Linham 8th Nov 2026
Glastonbury came together today to remember those who have served and died in conflict, as the town held its Remembrance Sunday parade and service.
The procession from the Town Hall to the war memorial at St John's Church brought together cadets, members of the Armed Forces and Royal British Legion, representatives from local schools, town dignitaries and residents.
At the war memorial, wreaths were laid and the community observed a two-minute silence.

The Last Post was sounded as those gathered paused to reflect and pay their respects.
The parade was followed by a church service, bringing the morning's commemorations to a close.
Street's Remembrance parade and service is due to take place this afternoon at 2.30pm. Organised by Street Parish Council and Street Royal British Legion, it is open to everyone. Wreaths will be laid at Street United Reformed Church and Merriman Park.
