Road Traffic Collision - Persons Trapped at Luns Hill, Somerton

Date: 08.12.2018Time: 09:29Location: Luns Hill, SomertonDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a three vehicle road traffic collision where it was believed one person was still trapped inside.

Fire control mobilised one fire appliance from Somerton, one from Glastonbury and an Operational Assurance Officer. Due to further information taken from the caller a Rescue Tender from Glastonbury was also mobilised.

On arrival crews confirmed a three vehicle road traffic collision with one male trapped within one of the vehicles and a number of other causalities that had self rescued from the remaining vehicles.

Crews got to work releasing the male using hydraulic rescue equipment and rams. Once released the male was handed over to our colleagues from the Ambulance Service and he was conveyed to hospital.

The remaining casualties were treated on scene by paramedics.

Duty of care was left with the Police.
