Fire in commercial property at Westway, Street

Date: 03.12.2018Time: 09:36Location: Westway, StreetThree appliances from Street, Glastonbury and Somerton were mobilised to reports of a fire in a commercial property at the above location. On arrival crews discovered one shrink wrap machine in the warehouse smouldering. The fire was involving the shrink wrap machine and boxed shoes inside. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet, small tools, triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.  The contents of the machine were 50% damaged by the fire and the machine was 30% damaged by fire. The property was smoke logged and crews ventilated using natural ventilation assisted with warehouse fans.
