The Glastonbury Carnival 2024 delivered a stunning finale to the Somerset carnival circuit, with dazzling carts and performances lighting up the streets despite the challenges of a wet evening.

Spectators at the start of the parade braved persistent drizzle as the event got underway, but those further down the route were rewarded with a mostly dry night to enjoy the displays. Local favourites Masqueraders, Wick, and King William shone brightly, with their floats capturing both the crowds' and the judges' attention.

The carnival, which drew visitors from across the region, featured a mix of comedic entries, intricate tableaux, and spectacular juvenile carts, proving once again why Somerset's carnival tradition is renowned. Highlights included Masqueraders' winning float Step Right Up, Ramblers' dazzling Pinball, and the lively Tour De Somerset from Newmarket CC, which added plenty of humour to the evening.

If you missed the spectacle or simply want to relive the magic, you can watch it on YouTube now. From the intricate costumes to the pulsating music and stunning light displays, it's a chance to soak up the carnival atmosphere all over again.

Whether you watched under an umbrella or enjoyed the dry spells, the Glastonbury Carnival 2024 proved a memorable night for all. Thank you to everyone who lined the streets and supported this treasured event. Here's to next year's spectacular!
