Recycling and rubbish pick-ups to run a day late after Monday 25 August

All rubbish and recycling collections in Somerset will take place one day later after 25 August
Bin collections across Somerset are set to run a day behind schedule due to the August bank holiday, Somerset Council has announced.
There will be no rubbish or recycling pick-ups on Monday 25 August. Instead, all collections will move back one day for the rest of the week. Monday rounds will happen on Tuesday, Tuesday's on Wednesday, and so on. Anyone expecting a Friday collection will have their bins collected on Saturday 30 August instead.
Recycling centres that usually open on Mondays will still open as normal on the bank holiday, operating from 9am to 6pm.
Households are being urged to crush and flatten their recyclables to make more room in their boxes and help collection crews manage the extra volume over the week.
More information, including what can be recycled and updated collection dates, is available at www.somerset.gov.uk/waste.
