Clarks Village will welcome back its popular dog-friendly event, Pawsome Pooch, for a third year this September.

Taking place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September, the free weekend event invites dogs and their owners to the Somerset outlet shopping centre for a programme of canine-themed activities.

Events on site will include dog trick demonstrations, have-a-go agility sessions, live pet portrait illustrations, and professional photo shoots. Each dog taking part in a shoot will receive a free digital portrait. Visitors can also book a photo session in advance by joining the centre's free PLUS+ members reward scheme, or attend on the day for a session with a roaming photographer.

A highlight of the weekend is the annual competition to select the next Clarks Village Canine Executive Officer (CEO). Ten shortlisted dogs from the photo sessions will be put forward to a public vote, with the winner receiving a prize package worth £500 including shopping vouchers, and acting as the centre's ambassador for future dog events.

Last year's winner, Dudley, a three-legged Hungarian Vizsla, has since become a well-known visitor at the outlet.

Clarks Village, which has been named the UK's most dog-friendly shopping centre by the DogFriendly Awards, allows dogs throughout most of its stores and at selected eateries. Its outdoor layout includes landscaped gardens and paved walkways, offering accessible space for visitors with pets.

Chris Davis, Centre Director at Clarks Village, said: "We've been blown away by how popular our Pawsome Pooch event has become, and we're incredibly excited to bring it back this September. It's a chance for dogs and their owners to try out agility, tricks and pampering, or take part in a complimentary photo shoot and our fun CEO competition."
