A planning application has been submitted to convert a property in Street into a seven-bedroom residential care home, raising concerns among local residents about parking and road safety.

The proposal, submitted by MPayne Kindred Care Ltd, seeks permission to change the use of 43 Leigh Road from a four-bedroom residential property with an attached hairdressing salon into a specialist care facility.

The site, which lies within the development limits of Street, has front access from Leigh Road and rear access onto Wraxhill Road. While the proposed layout and design details have not yet been provided, the principle of converting the property into a care home has been deemed acceptable under local planning policies.

As part of the proposal, parking for five vehicles is planned along the front of the property.

The deadline for submitting any comments is Tuesday, 5 March, and residents who wish to comment on the application can do so via the planning portal: View and comment on the application here.
