Now hiring in Street and Glastonbury: chefs, chippies and chart-wranglers wanted this week

If you're in Street or Glastonbury and thinking about a new role — or just fancy a nose at what's out there — here's this week's local jobs lowdown.
Starting with something hands-on and high-voltage, Electricians are needed in Street. It's a permanent role with a housing association, offering £41,056 plus overtime, call-out pay, a van and fuel card. You'll need your NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition and 2391, but no need to be a social housing expert — they'll show you the ropes.
More into fixing taps than circuits? A Maintenance Plumber role could be a solid fit. It's also based in Street and pays up to £37,000. You'll be part of a facilities team, supporting electrical and fabric works too. Legionella knowledge and plumbing quals needed — and there's a call-out rota every third weekend.
Meanwhile, Brookside Academy is recruiting a Specialist Provision Teacher. If you've got experience supporting pupils with complex SEND, this full-time post offers flexibility, Trust-wide support and even on-site gym access. Closes 23 July — don't hang about.

In hospitality, The Loft Lounge & Bar in Street is hiring a Part-Time Wash-Up and Food Prep Assistant. It's casual weekend and evening work — ideal if you're a student or just looking to top up your income. No CV black hole either — just contact Mark directly to apply.
And for those with a DBS and a ladle, Temporary Chefs are needed in Glastonbury for local care homes and schools. £21 an hour, flexible shifts, and a chance to make a proper difference through food. Bring your kitchen skills — and ideally a working knowledge of dietary requirements.
Got your SMSTS and a handle on civils? A Site Manager role in Glastonbury might be a fit. £350 a day on a new Somerset project involving earthworks and remediation. They're after someone with site experience, solid paperwork game, and good client comms.
Looking to climb higher in engineering? Principal Mechanical Engineers are being recruited for a role based in Stoke Gifford, with hybrid working and a competitive salary. You'll be leading teams, liaising with clients, and keeping projects on track — not necessarily nuclear experience needed, just strong technical leadership.
There's also a Fire and Security Service Engineer role based in Glastonbury, with a national firm. Up to £42,000, full-time and permanent, with a company vehicle included. BAFE, NSI and Gold-standard kit — if that means anything to you, you're probably who they're looking for.

In logistics and education, My Four Wheels is training new Driving Instructors in Street. Full training is provided, earnings are around £41,000, and there's a long waiting list of learners. You'll need a clean(ish) licence and a calm demeanour.
And finally, Mars is hiring a Demand Planner in Butleigh. £31.9k–£35.9k, Monday to Friday, and you'll be forecasting hundreds of products across multiple markets. Supply chain nerds and Power BI lovers, your time is now.
