Explore new job opportunities this week, ranging from demand planner roles at Mars to fire security engineering, educational support, and more.

Whether you're in the market for a full career move or just fancy nosing at what's out there while your coffee brews, here's this week's line-up of local jobs.

Let's start with forecasting – but not the weather. Mars is hiring a Demand Planner to help them predict product sales across 700 lines and 14 sales channels. You'll need solid supply chain experience and fluency in tools like Power BI. If you love a graph and a good stakeholder meeting, this £31.9k–£35.9k gig could be your jam.

If fire panels and CCTV are more your speed, there's a Fire and Security Service Engineer role in Street. Salary goes up to £42k, plus bonus, van (with personal use), and travel time paid after 30 minutes. You'll need solid experience and the ability to name-check systems like Texecom and Hikvision without blinking.

Labouring more your thing? There's a one-week Labourer contract going in Glastonbury – £16 an hour, CSCS card required, and you'll be helping out on a commercial strip-out. Show up, get stuck in, get paid.

In the hospitality world, The Loft in Street is looking for a Part-Time Wash-Up and Food Prep Assistant to join the team. It's ideal for students or anyone after casual weekend hours and isn't afraid of a bit of suds and sizzle. Contact Mark directly to apply – no CV formatting required.

If working with young people is your calling, a Glastonbury special school is after an Educational Support Worker. £95 a day, term-time only, and starting in September. You'll need experience with SEN and a calm, adaptable approach. Great for someone who wants to make a genuine difference without clock-watching.

Prefer wheels to whiteboards? There's a Courier role with Just Eat – you pick your hours, ride your own rhythm, and get paid weekly. All you need is a bike, a smartphone, and a sense of direction (and probably some waterproofs).

For shift workers, Warehouse Pickers are needed in Street. Pick and pack shoes for Clarks, enjoy decent canteen facilities, and earn up to £30.53 an hour on bank holidays. Options include short and long AM shifts, or PM hours – no experience necessary.

More of a toolbox person? A Glastonbury-based Field Service Engineer role is offering £36k–£39.5k with a van, door-to-door pay, training, and strong job security. They want electrical/mechanical all-rounders, especially from plant, agri or forklift backgrounds.

If you're better with pricing than pliers, there's a Internal Sales Executive role going in Glastonbury. £28k base, up to £42k with OTE, and the chance to join a high-performing, environmentally focused team that's got its act together. Proactive, motivated types welcome.

Finally, there's a big one for the science-savvy: a private boarding school near Street is looking for a Head of Chemistry. You'll need proper experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for getting students excited about molecules. Accommodation is available, and the role starts in September.
