The arrest was carried out by PCs Charlotte Bardley and James Higgins of the Glastonbury Neighbourhood Team.

A police spokesperson said: "Assaults on emergency workers will not be tolerated. Our officers are here to protect the public, and they should be able to carry out their duties without fear of violence or abuse."

Police have reminded the public to drink responsibly.
