Love Glastonbury wins BBC Make a Difference award for community fridge project

A Glastonbury food project has been recognised at BBC Radio Somerset's Make a Difference Awards.
Love Glastonbury, which runs a community fridge and pantry providing food that would otherwise go to landfill, won the Morning Live Community Group Award. The scheme helps hundreds of people across the town while reducing food waste.
The award was presented by Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara at a ceremony held at the Westlands Entertainment Venue in Yeovil.
Love Glastonbury was one of eight winners chosen from 28 finalists across Somerset. Other categories celebrated local volunteers, neighbours, animal welfare groups and fundraisers.
The awards aim to highlight the work of individuals and organisations that go above and beyond to support their communities.
