It's National Garden Day next week, and for green-fingered enthusiasts a trip to the horticultural exhibits at the Royal Bath & West Show (30th May-1st June) is a must.
Horticulture has been a key feature at the Royal Bath and West Show since the 19th Century and is enjoying a revival, partly in response to an upsurge in gardening during the pandemic lockdowns. The renewed emphasis on the horticultural tents has been supported by Chief Executive Carol Paris who has a background in horticulture, firstly as Chief Executive at the Horticultural Trades Association and then as Chief Executive at Rosebourne Garden Centres. Together with Chairman of the Horticulture Committee Nigel Hewitt-Cooper, and Vice-Chairman Nigel Cox, she is ensuring that this years' exhibits are better than ever.
In addition to the floral art displays and trade stands is the Pop-Up Gardens Competition, open to both professional and amateur gardeners. David Domoney of ITV's 'Love Your Garden' will be available to answer horticulture questions, alongside fruit and vegetable growing expert Jess Gough (Happy Smalholding) and Lara from the 'Skool Beanz' children's gardening club.
With all this and much more besides, the Royal Bath & West Show is a great value day out for every generation of garden lovers. The advanced ticket rate ends at Midnight on 16th May, so book now for even more savings at www.bathandwest.com.
