Students at St Dunstan's School in Glastonbury are celebrating after the school reported a second consecutive year of record-breaking GCSE and Key Stage 4 results.

The Class of 2026 also delivered a third straight year of improved outcomes, with the school highlighting strong performances across a broad range of subjects including Science, Humanities, Art, Media and Hospitality & Catering.

St Dunstan's said pupils also secured strong and standard passes in Maths and English at levels which "significantly surpass national averages", although the school has not published detailed percentages alongside its results announcement.

The school said many of this year's grades represented personal milestones for pupils who had overcome challenges during their time at St Dunstan's.

For Year 11 students, the results mark the end of one stage and the beginning of another, with pupils now moving on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and other routes.

Headteacher Paul Balkwill said: "I could not be more proud of our Year 11s. These results show what is possible with hard work, grit, and dedication.

"Behind every success story is a dedicated network of support: my thanks go to our incredible teachers and staff for inspiring our students to believe in themselves, and to our families for their constant encouragement, support and partnership."

The school described the results as another step forward after three successive years of improving outcomes.

It said the Class of 2026 had produced achievements across the curriculum, with students now leaving St Dunstan's with new opportunities ahead of them.

For the school, two consecutive record-breaking years is becoming rather more than a one-off good results day. For the pupils collecting grades today, though, the important bit is simpler: the next door is now open.
