Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information after a motorhome was destroyed by fire in Wollens Close, Glastonbury, at around 2.30am on Sunday, 21 June.

A separate vehicle parked nearby was also damaged.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called to a fire involving a motorhome in Wollens Close, Glastonbury, at around 2.30am on Sunday 21 June.

"The vehicle was destroyed by fire, and a separate vehicle parked nearby was also damaged. A man, described as white, of slim build, wearing a cap, a dark jacket and light trousers and carrying a backpack, was also reported to have been in the area shortly before the incident."

Fire crews from Glastonbury and Street were called after Fire Control received multiple reports of a campervan on fire. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service previously said crews found one vehicle well alight, with smoke and flames issuing from it.

Firefighters used hose reel jets, a compressed air foam attack jet, a thermal imaging camera and foam concentrate to bring the fire under control. The fire service said the vehicle and its contents were around 60% damaged by fire, and the cause was believed to be deliberate.

The Wollens Close fire happened just over a week after a separate blaze in Beckery New Road, Glastonbury, on Saturday, 13 June, in which three caravans and a neighbouring building were damaged. Police have confirmed the latest incident is not connected to that earlier fire near Tesco.

Anyone with information can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form.

Crimestoppers says no personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded, and people will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting the charity.
