A crew from Glastonbury was one of three called to tackle a fire at a home in Street yesterday afternoon (May 29).

Just after 5pm, three crews from Glastonbury, Street and Wells were called to the fire in Strawberry Hill, Street.

On arrival, crews confirmed this incident involved a fire on top of a cooker and got to work to extinguish it using two breathing apparatus, one main jet, one hose reel jet and a carbon dioxide extinguisher.

The crews used two thermal imaging cameras to check the property for hot spots.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
