Glastonbury firefighters have thanked the community after a charity car wash at Tesco raised £2,377 for The Fire Fighters Charity.
The fundraiser took place at Tesco car park in Glastonbury yesterday, Saturday, 30 May 2026.
Drivers were invited to bring their cars along for a wash in return for donations to the charity, which supports serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.
The total was more than double last year's figure, when the event raised £1,002.50.
Glastonbury Fire Station thanked everyone who donated, helped out, shared the event or stopped by to show support.
In a message after the event, the station said: "A huge congratulations to the incredible crew at Glastonbury and a massive thank you to every member of the public who came along and supported our charity car wash today.
"Thanks to your generosity, hard work, and community spirit, we raised an amazing £2,377 for the Fire Fighters Charity.
"We're incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, helped out, spread the word, or simply stopped by to show support.
"Days like today show what can be achieved when the community comes together for such a fantastic cause."
The station also thanked Tesco in Glastonbury for providing the venue again this year.
Every penny raised will go to The Fire Fighters Charity.
