Readers of Glastonbury and Street Nub News have picked The King Arthur as their favourite pub for 2026 after voting in the comments on social media. The Glastonbury venue stood out as readers praised its atmosphere, live bands and the all-round feel of a proper local.

Supporters were clear in their backing. One called it the best "hands down", while others said "The King Arthur obvs", "King Arthur 100%" and simply "King Arthur" as the votes rolled in.

The King William Inn in Glastonbury was another major favourite, with readers describing it as "consistently fantastic, kind and down to earth". Others called it a family-friendly proper pub and said it remains one of the town's most reliable choices.

Becketts Inn also featured strongly, with supporters pointing to its beer and cider selection and its garden. One reader said it was the pick for "any day", while others simply named it as their standout venue.

The Avalon Club drew repeated support too, even as one commenter pointed out the debate was about pubs rather than clubs. That did not stop it emerging as one of the most talked-about venues in the discussion, underlining just how much readers value atmosphere and community.

Street also had strong backing for several venues. The King Alfred was repeatedly mentioned, with one reader naming it alongside The King William Inn as a favourite for family-friendly pub life. Others backed Mullions 51, while The Loft Lounge & Bar and the Unity Club were also given shout-outs.

Elsewhere, readers put forward The Rifleman's Arms, Market House, The Crown, The Mitre Inn, Who'd A Thought It, The Royal Oak in Walton, The Railway Inn in Meare and The Bird at Westhay.

Taken together, the comments showed readers want far more than just a pint from their favourite local. Live music, good food, welcoming staff, sport on screens and a strong community feel all came up time and again.

For Glastonbury and Street, the result paints a clear picture of what makes a pub stand out in 2026. Readers backed venues that feel busy, friendly and full of life — and on this occasion The King Arthur came out on top.
