Street opens search for next youth ambassador
By Laura Linham 17th Mar 2026
Street Parish Council is looking for a young person to serve as Youth Ambassador for the civic year from May 2026 to April 2027. The role is open to young people in Street, with candidates able to put themselves forward or be nominated by others.
The council said the Youth Ambassador will attend the Community Awards and Investiture Ceremony, take part in civic services and local events, and represent young people at community occasions. The role also includes supporting the Remembrance Sunday Parade and helping hand over to the next Youth Ambassador at the end of the civic term.
Street Parish Council said the post is intended to help young people build confidence and leadership skills, get involved in the local community, develop transferable skills and learn how local government works. Applications are being invited from young people living in Street.
Residents can find more information through the parish council, while applications are being taken through an online form. The closing date for nominations is Thursday, 30 April 2026.
The council's publicity material does not state an age range for applicants beyond describing the role as a Youth Ambassador opportunity for young people in Street.
