Father Christmas visited Morrisons in Glastonbury over Christmas and his helpers were members of Glastonbury and Street Lions Club. Some members of the club visited the store to say thank you and chat with their Community Champion Stella and to present a Certificate of Appreciation to the store.

They were able to report that the reindeer behaved themselves and Santa enjoyed talking to lots of children and their families.

The customers of Morrisons were in excellent festive spirit and extremely generous donating £700.24 to the Lions Charity Account.

These funds will be used to support principally local causes and groups.

"A spokesman for Glastonbury and Street Lions Club said: "We want to thank Morrisons store, and especially their Community Champion Stella, for hosting us and making us feel so welcome in the store. The donations have helped us support local people and for that we are grateful. We will be in touch with Santa Claus to see if he is able to join us again next December in Morrisons, Glastonbury!"
