Glastonbury and Street have a new neighbourhood police officer, with PC Callum Pearson joining the local team after serving communities in Frome. Mendip Neighbourhood Policing said PC Pearson has recently joined the Glastonbury and Street Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The move brings another familiar uniform to the streets, beat routes and community meetings across the two towns. Police said PC Pearson is looking forward to getting out into the community, meeting residents and partners, and helping tackle the issues that matter most locally.

PC Pearson joins the team after two years serving the communities of Frome. Before that, he spent two years on Response in Radstock and 18 months as a PCSO in Yeovil.

That background gives him experience across both frontline policing and neighbourhood work. Mendip Neighbourhood Policing said it means he brings a strong grounding in community-focused policing to the Glastonbury and Street patch.

Neighbourhood officers are often the public face of local policing, dealing with community concerns, working with partner agencies and building relationships with residents, businesses and local groups. In Glastonbury and Street, that can mean anything from visible patrols and engagement work to picking up recurring issues raised by people living and working in the area.

Mendip Neighbourhood Policing has encouraged residents to stop and say hello if they see PC Pearson out and about. The team said he is keen to meet people across the area as he settles into the role.
