Firefighters from Wells, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet are swapping the station yard for the football pitch in a charity match against Avon and Somerset Police.

The game will be held at Wells Football Club on Saturday, 18 July, raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity and Miscarriage UK. Crews from the three local fire stations will line up against police officers from the force.

The match is being organised as a community fundraiser, with local residents being encouraged to come along and support both teams. Wells firefighter Ollie Garstang said the aim was to raise awareness of the two charities and bring people in from across the area.

The Fire Fighters Charity supports serving and retired fire service personnel and their families. Miscarriage UK supports people affected by miscarriage and pregnancy loss.
