As Glastonbury and Street gear up for an enchanting weekend leading into a fun-filled half-term, there's plenty of unique and engaging activities for families and individuals alike.

With a blend of spirituality, creativity, and community spirit, the area invites everyone to partake in experiences that promise to enrich, entertain, and enlighten.

This Friday, 9th February, Beckets Inn in Glastonbury becomes a nexus of mystic exploration with the Glastonbury Pagan Moot — Annwyn Avalon. Starting at 7:30 pm, this gathering is a deep dive into the esoteric water mysteries with Annwyn Avalon, a water priestess and author. The evening promises to be an insightful exploration of water's magical and transformative powers. The creative pulse of the community beats strong this Saturday, 10th February, with the Muse-Art Course in Glastonbury. Led by Priestess Artist Susie Quatermass, this workshop invites participants to explore and restore the muse within through art. Embarking on a journey of self-discovery and connection with the divine feminine, attendees will work with various elements and mediums. The spirit of sharing and sustainability is alive at the Glastonbury Seed Swap this Sunday, 11th February, at St Edmunds Hall. From 11 am to 2 pm, gardeners and growers are invited to share seeds, knowledge, and skills, fostering community resilience and biodiversity. Whether you're bringing seeds to swap or seeking new varieties for your garden, this event is a testament to the power of community in action. As we step into half term, Wells Cathedral offers a palette of "Saints and Songbirds" activities from 12th to 14th February. Whether it's stitching a story, making a bird feeder, or embarking on a saints trail, these activities are designed to engage the creative minds of your little ones. Children and adults alike can embark on a quest to uncover the secrets of Somerset's rural past, with each discovery offering insights into the daily lives of those who lived and worked in the countryside.

One of the highlights includes traditional butter-making demonstrations taking place in the Farmhouse Kitchen. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how butter was made before modern conveniences, with demonstrations scheduled at 11.30 am, 1.00 pm, and 3.00 pm on Saturday, 10th February.

The museum's "Farmyard Fun" day on Tuesday, 13th February, promises an up-close experience with the animals that play a crucial role in farm life. The event, in collaboration with Second Chance Petting Farm, allows visitors to meet and learn about various farm animals. Additionally, attendees can engage in craft activities, adding a creative twist to their visit.

For those with an artistic flair, "Cockerel Collage" on Wednesday, 14th February, invites participants to join local artist Jill Davies in an arts and craft workshop.

Animal lovers are in for a treat on "Donkey Day," Thursday, 15th February, where friendly visiting donkeys become the stars of the show.

The following day, "Birds of Prey" introduces guests to the majestic birds from Pitcombe Rock Falconry. This encounter highlights the importance of these predators in the rural ecosystem, complemented by a bird feeder-making workshop, encouraging visitors to support local wildlife.

As the week draws to a close, "Foody Fun" on Saturday, 17th February, educates families about the 'hungry gap' and invites them to decorate biscuits.

Don't miss the "Snowdrop Celebrations" at The Bishop's Palace, a herald of spring in the stunning gardens around the moat. Partnering with the Shepton Snowdrops Festival, the event features walks and talks about these early bloomers, including tales of James Allen, The Snowdrop King. Venturing a bit further from Wells, Longleat's "Winter Wildlife Week" from 10th–18th February offers an exciting exploration of the animal kingdom, while Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford invites families for a gear-shifting adventure during the same dates. For those looking for a theatrical escape, "MADAGASCAR- A Musical Adventure" at Strode Theatre in Street on 10th and 11th February promises a roaring good time. And if you're looking to go to the cinema, Wells Film Centre is offering the latest releases for just £5 per ticket.
