This weekend, Glastonbury and Street are lighting up with a flurry of festivities, and we owe a big thank you to The King Arthur in Glastonbury for sponsoring this newsletter, which showcases a particularly sparkling array of events.

Starting the weekend with a bang on Friday, 8th December, is the Hard Rock Road at The Assembly Rooms, starting at 8 PM. It's the fourth night of hard rock and heavy metal, and for just £5, you can headbang the night away. The venue boasts a spacious dance area and a chillout bar/cafe, welcoming everyone, regardless of who you are. Details can be found here.

On Saturday, 9th December, Sublifter & DJ Blotter will be spinning the decks at the Glastonbury Assembly Rooms, promising a night of dub-inspired rhythms. If you're into bass-driven underground music, this is your scene. The event runs from 8 PM to 1 AM, with tickets at £5. More information is available here.

Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band

For something a bit more traditional, the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band invite you to their Christmas Concert at The Salvation Army Hall, Street. On Saturday, 9th December at 7 PM, this free event promises sparkling festive music and Christmas favourites. You can find out more here.

The St Margaret's Hospice Light Up a Life Service offers a virtual remembrance event on Sunday, 10th December. It's a time to dedicate a star in memory of loved ones in their Virtual Night Sky. Find more details and how to participate here.

If you're up for one heckuva party, The King Arthur in Glastonbury is hosting the Kozfest Xmas Party 2023. This isn't just any party; it's three days of mind-bending psych and psychedelic music, starting from Friday, 8th December, and lasting until Sunday, 10th December. The lineup includes the likes of Zubzub, Gnob, and The Ullulators, along with Deviant Amps, Kavus Torabi, Cracked Machine, Lords Of Form, and many others. This is the place to be for an out-of-this-world musical experience.

Also, don't miss out on the South West Makers Market at the Red Brick Building on Saturday, 10th December, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It's a haven for unique finds and artisan crafts.

The Brue Boys are having 'A Night Out' at St Benedict's Church on Saturday, 9th December, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, promising a delightful evening of music.

For more of a psychedelic folk experience, catch Mobius Loop at the Red Brick Building on Saturday, 9th December.

On Sunday, 10th December, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, St John the Baptist's Church is hosting a Folk Music and Christmas Storytelling event - perfect for getting into the holiday spirit.

And for the little ones, there's a Children's Christmas Afternoon Tea with Characters at Sweets Tea Rooms on Sunday, 10th December, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

So, whether you're in Glastonbury or Street this weekend, there's no excuse not to get out and soak up the festive atmosphere. From rock to reggae, Christmas carols to storytelling, and a psychedelic extravaganza at The King Arthur, there's a little bit of magic for everyone.
