A planning application has been submitted to Somerset Council byArchstone Ltd, trading as Earthfare, who aim to add a splash of colour to a local car park.

The proposed mural is intended to not only beautify the area but also serve as a celebration of local art and culture.

Earthfare's application, under the reference PP-12216449, seeks permission to transform an ordinary car park wall at Butts Close into a canvas for local creativity.

The proposed mural will span 2.2 metres in height and 3.2 metres in width and hand-painted by a local artist.

Its design centres around a yellow and green backdrop filled with illustrations of fruit, leaves, and wildlife, accompanied by text in shades of green and white.

"In submitting this application to Somerset Council, we've considered every aspect to ensure the mural aligns with community values and complements the High Street surroundings," the application reads. "We've found strong support for this project among our residents, and we're committed to fulfilling all regulatory requirements."

The application is now awaiting review by Somerset Council,
