Dragons, fire and folklore to storm Glastonbury High Street this Hallowe’en

Glastonbury's High Street will come alive with the clash of dragons, the beat of drums and a blaze of fire as the Dragons Wild Hunt storms into town on Saturday 25 October.
The free community event kicks off from midday with the Wild Hunt Magic Market at Tor Leisure Centre, where handmade seasonal goods and Samhain crafts will be on sale. Then at 4pm, the Red and White Dragons — joined by the Green Men of Glastonbury and Gwyn ap Nudd — will process down the High Street, drummed on by the Glastonbury Dragon Drummers.
At 4.15pm, the dragons will "Battle for the Season" at the Market Cross, watched by crowds and crowned by the Mayor. The procession then continues to Tor Leisure field, where a fire ceremony honouring the ancestors will take place around 5pm.
Morris dancers, ceremonial performers and the Drummers of Avalon will bring the spectacle to life, with residents urged to dress for the season.
Organisers are calling for volunteers — especially "dragon legs" to help operate the dragon costumes. Anyone keen to join should head to Butts Close Car Park by Beckett's Gate at 3.30pm, or message the Glastonbury Dragons Facebook page.
