Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a bedroom fire at the above location.

Fire control immediately mobilised two fire appliances from Shepton Mallet, one fire appliance from Glastonbury and a duty officer to attend this incident.

On arrival the officer in charge confirmed smoke issuing from the first floor window and crews got to work with breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, safety jets to extinguish the fire. The crew promptly extinguished the fire.

There was fire damage to one side board, curtains and the carpet and ten percent of the room was smoke damaged.

The cause of the fire was accidental due to the sun magnifying from a mirror onto the curtains.

These were the final details.
