Disused Barn Fire at Edgarley Road, Glastonbury

Date: 03.07.2018Time: 02:04Location: Edgarley Road, GlastonburyDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a report from a member of public stating that there was a small fire within a wood at the above location.

Fire control mobilised one fire appliance from Glastonbury to attend.

On arrival crews confirmed that this was a fire involving a disused barn measuring approx. 20m x 8m. Further resources were sent from Glastonbury and Street.

At 0249hrs crews were using 1 hose reel jet and 1 45mm main jet to extinguish this fire and prevent any further fire spread.

At 0311hrs crews are now using 2 compressed air foam jets to assist with extinguishing this fire.

A local crew from Glastonbury will attend at 0900hrs to inspect and ensure that all hotspots have been extinguished.
