Glastonbury and Street are set to host a variety of exciting events this weekend, promising a blend of celebration, history, and community spirit.

From Glastonbury Pride to engaging workshops and historical displays, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Kick off the weekend with a legendary rock night featuring Foo Fakers and Nirvanot at Studio24 in Wells. Expect high-octane performances of classic hits from Foo Fighters and Nirvana that will have the crowd singing and moshing all night long. From "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to "Everlong," this event promises to be a nirvana for rock fans. Don't miss your chance to see these top tributes in action and get ready to be "All My Life" amazed. Glastonbury kicks off the weekend with its third Pride celebration on Sunday, 28th July 2024. The day begins with a brunch at the Queen of Cups from 10am to 12pm, followed by entertainment at the Market Cross. The Pride march, the highlight of the event, starts at 1pm with the Dragon Drummers setting the rhythm. After the march, the festivities continue at St Ben's church with performances, stalls, and free food. MP Sarah Dyke will officially open the event, and the raffle drawing will take place at 5.45pm. For history enthusiasts, the Bowlore Medieval Display at Glastonbury Abbey is a must-see. Taking place on Saturday, 27th July and Sunday, 28th July from 10am to 5pm, the event features archery and weapons demonstrations, choreographed combat, and interactive displays. Attendees can also try their hand at archery and sword fighting for a small fee. This event is included with the cost of admission to the Abbey. The Glastonbury Symposium, one of Britain's longest-running alternative conferences, returns this weekend from Friday, 26th July to Sunday, 28th July at Glastonbury Town Hall. The symposium features a wide range of presentations from top speakers in the fields of mysteries, and new frontiers, alongside musical performances. For those with a passion for fashion, the Designer Preloved Styling Tour in Glastonbury on Friday, 26th July offers a unique shopping experience. Hosted by Katie Young Gerald, the tour guides participants through the best preloved clothing finds, with a focus on sustainable and unique styles. Music lovers can enjoy live performances at local venues. On Friday, 26th July, RaZaR will be performing at the King Arthur from 9pm to 11pm. For young performers, Strode Theatre is hosting an advanced musical theatre workshop on Sunday, 28th July from 11:15am to 12:15pm. Directed by Dean Brammall and Lucy Nicholson, this workshop is designed for ages 13-18 with a background in theatre or dance.
