Back to school: Glastonbury’s St John’s Infants invites ex-pupils and staff to class reunion

Former pupils and staff of St John's Infant School in Glastonbury are being given the chance to head back to class – but this time, it’s for a reunion rather than a spelling test.
The school is throwing open its doors on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, from 5pm to 7pm, for a special get-together celebrating decades of memories and community connection.
Anyone who attended or worked at the school – whether it was in the 1960s or just a few years ago – is being invited to come along, reconnect with old faces, and take a nostalgic wander through the corridors of their childhood.
Guests will be able to explore the school, flick through old photographs, swap stories from their school days, and enjoy tea and cake in familiar surroundings.
Organisers hope the event will bring together generations of Glastonbury locals who share a common starting point in their educational journeys.
"Whether you were here when chalkboards were the norm or you remember the first iPads in classrooms, this is your chance to revisit the place where it all began," a spokesperson said.
Visitors are encouraged to bring along school reports, photographs, or any other mementoes from their time at St John's to help jog memories and spark conversation.
The school, which has served generations of families in the town, has seen plenty of change over the years – from modernised classrooms to updated teaching styles – but still prides itself on offering a nurturing start for young learners.
