A concrete batching plant could be built on land at Dyehouse Lane in Glastonbury, if plans are given the go-ahead.

Glastonbury based concrete supplier Tor Multimix has been forced to find new premises after being served notice to vacate their current site at the end of the year.

They now want to build their own site – just 250m from their current location – to prevent being forced to relocate again the future, and to create a purpose-built facility that will be more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Planning applications validated this week:

Ferlingmere House, 18 St Marys Road, Meare

Replace existing derelict skittle alley with a new detached ancillary building.

5 Orchard View, Ham Street, Baltonsborough

Erection of two storey rear extension and single storey side extension following demolition of existing outbuilding.

Land To The West Of Date Palms, Ham Street, Baltonsborough

Variation of Condition 1 (Plans List) of permission 2016/1076/REM (Reserved matters application for the erection of 36 dwellings together with ancillary buildings and highway works addressing all reserved matters: Access, Appearance, Landscaping, Layout, and Scale (amended plans received, including revised layout).

160 Somerton Road, Street 

Install and extend highway safety entrance gateway into private existing front driveway 2. Details to satisfy Condition 3 of permission SCC/3892/2021: Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) Before the groundworks of this development commence a Construction, Environmental Management Plan shall be submitted and approved in writing by the County Planning Authority. The CEMP shall include description of the distinct phases of construction, their duration and the measures adopted to minimise impacts on residential and school development. Control measures may include restriction of hours, operating procedure, physical control measures and procedures to address complaints. The development shall then be carried out in full compliance with the approved details. Reason: To minimise risks of disturbance to school or residential uses.
