Plans have been submitted for the building of a new village hall in Meare.

Proposals for the building of a village hall and associated parking at Meare Playing Field, in St Marys Road, have been put forward by Meare Parish Council.

Other planning applications in the Glastonbury area that have been submitted this week include:

Proposed works to tree(s) in a Conservation Area: Scots Pines (T1 and T2) Dead trees in danger of failure, remove limbs leaving trunks as standing dead wood; Sorbus sp. (T3) Reduce length of two lateral limbs by approximately 1.5m to a suitable pruning point in order to prevent failure due to over extension at Westside, Butleigh Court Access Track, Butleigh, are wanted by Adam Clark.

Insertion of privacy screen and bathroom fittings, new door and fanlight, and handrail to stairs; rebuild the stone wall adjacent to the entrance drive at 3 Magdalene Street, Glastonbury, has been applied for by Mary-Elizabeth O'Neill.

Demolition of existing ground floor extensions and construction of new ground floor, single storey rear extension; installation of two windows in reinstated structural openings in flank wall at second floor level; removal of existing defective cement render and roof coverings on existing outrigger, walls re-rendered, roof resurfaced and solar panels installed at 8 Lambrook Street, Glastonbury, is wanted by Chris Lambert and Meig Stevenson.

Installation of a 42-inch LCD media screen, three 1250mm x 700mm flag pole signs, overall 2450mm in height at Tesco Supermarket, Wirral Park Road, Glastonbury, have been applied for by Mr Andy Horwood.

An application for Outline Planning Permission with all matters reserved for the erection of an agricultural workers dwelling and garage at Appledawn, Wick Lane, Wick, by Mr R and S Bunn has been approved.

Erection of Free Range Egg Laying Poultry Buildings and Associated Infrastructure on land at Lottisham Lane, Lottisham, by Mrs D Board has been approved.

New shopfront glazing to forecourt sales building and new 2m high timber bin store to rear of forecourt sales building (amended drawings) at Lydford Filling Station, Fosse Way, Lydford-on-Fosse by Motor Fuel Ltd has been approved.

Replace conservatory plastic sheet roof with slate roof and replace uPVC frame with timber at 38 Benedict Street, Glastonbury, by Marion Kobylinski has been approved.

Proposed single storey rear extension at Mundys Paddock, Chapel Lane, Meare, by Mr and Mrs R Franks has been approved.

Erection of a two and a half storey dwelling with double garage and carport, including associated access and landscaping on land next to Dyehouse Lane, Glastonbury, by Mr C White has been refused.
