By Tim Lethaby   16th Jul 2021

Date: 10.09.2019Time: 20:39Location: Benedict Street, GlastonburyFire Control received over a dozen calls to a camper van on fire.

One appliance each from Glastonbury and Wells attended.

On arrival the campervan fire had spread to adjacent hedgerow and fencing.

As a gas cylinder was identified firefighters withdrew a safe distance to fight the fire.

As a precaution local residents were asked to move to the rear of the property.

Firefighters wore 4 breathing apparatus and used 2 ground monitor jets and foam to extinguish the fire. A thermal imaging camera was used to check the cylinder temperature and for hotspots.

The cause of the fire was recorded as deliberate, police officers were on scene investigating.
