The Role

This School is seeking an Outreach and Partnership Co-Ordinator to lead their work, primarily, in an Outreach capacity supporting schools with students who may be experiencing difficulties, those who may be moving between schools or provisions and are undertaking partnership work.

This is an exciting role and one that will enable the successful candidate help to shape the support the school offers to their students and the support they provide to mainstream schools in Mendip.

Key Responsibilities

They are looking for a dynamic, passionate and skilled member to join their team, who wishes to make a difference to the lives and opportunities of young people and join their successful, supportive and committed staff.

The successful candidate may be:

  • Working with students throughout Key Stages 2, 3 & 4
  • Working alongside schools to improve support for students as well as supporting mainstream schools help their students.
  • Meeting with teachers & senior leaders and co-creating plans for support as well as working with staff to support improvement through INSET, staff meetings, etc.

The successful colleague will be a flexible and committed individual, passionate about empowering children and young people.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience of working with SEMH pupils - supporting them in developing their academic skills as well as supporting their social emotional needs is important.
  • Honours degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people in a mainstream or specialist setting
  • An understanding and knowledge of a range of creative and vocational education courses and how to adapt them for disaffected or disengaged learners
  • Passionate about enabling all pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve success
  • A positive team member who is reliable and consistent and able to use their initiative
  • An ability to actively addresses SEMH needs whilst delivering lessons/teaching/with students
  • An ability to form trusting, positive relationships with young people and use this to support in times of need/crisis
