The Fire Service attended a Water Rescue in the above area. Fire Appliances from Glastonbury, Street and the Specialist Rescue Team from Bridgwater were mobilised to this incident.
On arrival, crews confirmed 1 Female still within the River. Crews rescued the female using Water Rescue Equipment and Ladders and is now in the hands of the Ambulance Service.

Somerset County Council is asking everyone to help make a difference to the lives of people living with dementia.

Dementia Action Week, led by the Alzheimer's Society, is taking place next week [21-27 May] and Somerset County Council is calling on everyone to come together and help create a 'dementia-friendly' County. There are lots of activities and events around the County that will help families affected by the disease.

One fire appliance from Castle Cary was sent to a report of a road traffic collision at the above location.
The incident involved a curtain sided truck that was in collision with a bridge.  The vehicle was removed from under the bridge and made safe.  The Police also attended.

We are urging people living in Wellington to be alert after reports of thefts of cash from homes and vehicles in the town.

"We're concerned to see this number of offences in such a usually safe area and appreciate the understandable anxiety it's causing the community.

 Neighbourhood officers are increasing patrols in the area, calling on support from colleagues in Tri-Force, and we'd encourage anyone who sees someone trying door handles or acting suspiciously around homes or vehicles to call us immediately.
