Location: Near Pilton, Shepton Mallet

Two crews from Shepton mallet were mobilised to a report of a road traffic collision at the above location. Upon arrival the crews confirmed a three vehicle collision.

One person was still within one of the vehicles. Although they were not physically trapped the crew removed the roof of the vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment in order to assist the ambulance crew with safely extricating the casualty.

Location: Badgers Green Road, Walton, Street

One fire appliance from Street attended an incident involving a 12 year old boy locked in a downstairs cloakroom, and his mother locked out of the property. Crews gained access to the property using a triple extension ladder, and forced entry to the cloak room to release the boy. No one was injured.

Recommendations for the future of Somerset's Libraries Service were unveiled today (16 October), with a final decision expected to be made next month (5 November).

For the remaining 15 library buildings, Somerset County Council would seek to develop 'Community Library Partnerships' (CLPs) where communities would support library buildings in partnership with the County Council.

Location: Millfield Industrial Estate, Millfield, Chard

The Fire Service attended a Vehicle Fire in the above area.
Fire Appliances from Chard and Ilminster were mobilised to this incident. On arrival, crews confirmed one Agricultural Vehicle on fire, Crews extinguished the fire using Two Breathing Apparatus, One Hose Reel Jet and One Compressed Air Foam Jet.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
The fire is now extinguished and these are the full and final details.
