Glastonbury psytrance night to raise cash for Assembly Rooms

A group of psytrance fans is putting on a night of music in Glastonbury to raise money for the Assembly Rooms.

PsyRANDOM will take over the High Street venue from 8 pm on Saturday, 10 October, with all proceeds from the event being donated back to the Assembly Rooms.

The group describes itself as a small collective of enthusiastic psytrance lovers, playing a mix stretching from old-school tracks through to twilight and full-on psytrance.

Entry starts from £7, with the money raised intended to help support the venue and the team of staff and volunteers who keep it running.

The Assembly Rooms remains one of Glastonbury's busiest independent community venues, hosting live music, theatre, talks, exhibitions and other events throughout the year.

PsyRANDOM said the night had been organised as a way of combining the group's love of the music with practical support for the building.

The group said: "We will be donating all proceeds to the amazing Assembly Rooms.

"We hope to raise funds via a small fee on the door. Hopefully any money raised will benefit the venue and also help the team that work and volunteer to keep this venue running long into the future."

The fundraiser comes during a busy October programme at the Assembly Rooms, with concerts, dance nights and other fundraising events also taking place during the month.

PsyRANDOM takes place at Glastonbury Assembly Rooms on Saturday, 10 October from 8 pm.
