Young guitarist Rhys Miller, from Butleigh, has been performing for thousands online during his self-produced Corona Sessions live stream music events on Facebook and Instagram.

The Year 10 student, who attends Millfield School in Street, plays classic and contemporary rock, metal and blues covers on his social media channels, as well as featuring on numerous online open mic nights in London and Hereford.

As a result of his live streamed sessions, Rhys has now been offered a brand ambassador contract with Blackstar Amps and has started to collaborate with other musicians.

Rhys started playing the guitar when he was six years old, and joined Millfield Prep School at Edgarley in 2016.

Rhys performs regularly at Millfield as part of the school's music programme, which features 50 concerts a year with students benefiting from masterclasses with top musicians including Harry the Piano and Joseph Moog.

Millfield Music School also has its very own recording label, utilising its professional standard recording studio.

Rhys hopes to continue his music at Millfield while pursuing his dream to play live as part of a band, touring the world and making records.

He said: "I love performing live and particularly enjoy Millfield's Johnson Sessions as the showcase gives me the chance to play to local audiences.

"I will continue to do the live streaming even after lockdown. It gives me the opportunity to play and ensures that I practice all week to play new songs and new techniques.

"Hopefully, the Corona Sessions have helped to inspire more people to listen to more heavy metal and rock songs."
