Mr Keep Calm are a songwriting and production duo based in Glastonbury, who are using their lockdown time to create new music videos every month from their own homes.
Formed sometime around 2005 the pair, consisting of Gary Smith (vocals) and James Bennett (guitar), have been playing in various forms in the area for some time.
They were due to get back to live performance after revising their acoustic and band format into an electronic and production act, but the virus lockdown meant all their debut gigs had to be cancelled.
So instead, utilising their basic equipment from home and digital technologies, they're pledging to release a new music video on the first of every month from June 1 to December 1 during 2020.
The songs are a mix of new original material alongside remixed versions of some of the songs from their extensive back catalogue, all with a music video produced in their houses and combined through use of the internet.
Gary told Glastonbury Nub News: "We are both working during this period but finding that missing the usual weekend trips out means we have extra time on our hands.
"We've already done a handful of live acoustic solo streams and were looking for something new. So we got our heads together and decided to work hard at creating new music, remixing some of our band and acoustic material, and trying to come up with interesting video ideas from our council house bedrooms.
"The real test is using a very small space and limited resources to find something visually arresting that ties in with the music."
So far the duo have worked for the past two weeks and have already got some ready. They will be released on the Mr Keep Calm Youtube Channel the first of each month, with links on their Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages as well as linked to their website at www.mrkeepcalm.co.uk.
The band hope that during the time of being stuck indoors people will have something interesting to watch and listen to that is made with care and with a low fi cottage industry independent feel, and that people may enjoy them, share them around and come to see them live once lockdown finishes.
