A new mural at St John's Infant School in Glastonbury is not just brightening up the hallways, but also bringing joy and excitement to its young students.

The once bland and underused space in the school has been transformed into an immersive nature experience, thanks to the creative efforts of artist Faye Chadburn and her team.

The project, which was sponsored by Tor Home Care, Burns the Bread, Glastonbury Festival, Glastonbury Mural Trail, Heart of the Tribe Gallery, Thorndown Paints, Greg Taylor, and Glastonbury Town Council Youth Projects, has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the school community.

Children were seen literally dancing with joy in the hallways, showcasing their moves in front of the vibrant mural.

Faye Chadburn, who spent an entire week working on the mural with her team, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the school and the community.

"The gorgeous community of Glastonbury has done it again, provided me with a project that will benefit generations to come," she said. "I just spent an entire week working on with Sea Shanti to create this immersive nature experience in an otherwise very bland and unused space."

The mural's nature theme and vibrant colours have turned the hallway into a source of inspiration and joy for the students. and spaces like the one Chadburn and her team have revitalised can significantly affect children's moods and learning experiences.

The project also witnessed invaluable contributions from Sea Shanti and Greg Taylor, who, along with Eastend Custom, brought state-of-the-art camera equipment to document the mural's creation.

The mural at St John's School stands as more than just an artistic addition; it is a legacy that will continue to inspire and delight students for many years to come, proving the importance of investing in creative spaces within educational settings.
