Voters in Street and Glastonbury head to polls on 2 May

Residents of Street and Glastonbury will be participating in this week's elections to choose a new Police and Crime Commissioner for the Avon and Somerset Police force area.

You will have one vote, and can choose from four candidates.

Polling stations will open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, 2 May. Voters can find their designated polling station details on the poll card received or by visiting the website: Where Do I Vote.

People planning to vote in person at a polling station must bring photo ID. Acceptable ID includes:

  • Passport
  • Driving licence (including provisional license)
  • Blue badge
  • Certain concessionary travel cards
  • Identity card with PASS mark (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
  • Biometric Immigration document
  • Defence identity card
  • Certain national identity cards

Postal voters should send their ballots promptly via Royal Mail due to recent changes in postal vote processing.

The vote count will take place overnight from 2-3 May, with results to be announced on Somerset Council's website.
